At ACS, a data recovery occurs in phases. Before we start, we can answer your questions and give you an estimate over the phone. We'll fax or email evaluation authorization documents to you. Then, when we receive the media and completed documents, we initiate the data recovery. Usually within one to three business days, we'll know how successful the recovery was and the extent of damage to the media. By email we'll send you a report of the findings. Most recoveries are successful and the report includes a list of all the files which are recoverable, the cost of the recovery, and next steps. We're also available to discuss your project and explain the report. As soon as we receive your purchase authorization, the data is transferred to CDs or other media. The completed job is then delivered, usually in one or two business days. If the data can't be recovered or you decide against purchasing the recovery, then the project is terminated. You pay only the evaluation fee, any shipping charges, and state sales tax. The process we've described here is the one that most clients experience.
